I've never taken a guitar lesson, so I don't know if my teacher was relatively weird or not. I do know that he said things like, "I might suspect you of the sin of sloth."
And when I said something about how our eyes are able to interpret color because of rods and cones, he delicately explained how wrong I was and then proceeded to explain ROYGBIV as it pertains to the rainbow.
When teaching us how to pluck, he conducted us with enthusiastic arm motions that gradually evolved into the zone out stare of a human metronome. We only played one note repeatedly for about five minutes.
The way he watched us was as if he could hear a magic in the notes, or maybe in all the other notes we weren't playing. Maybe he heard something powerful in any music and was just easily enchanted, like a toddler with cartoons. But I think maybe his former passion for music has evolved into a passion for teaching.

Why My Hand is a New Shade of Purple
I was visiting my friend Paul Berry for the first time in a few months yesterday. I opened the door to see him and his dog yapping at me from a leash that his mom is holding. “Don’t worry, he’s not as dangerous as he looks,” says Paul. The dog is acting a little aggressive, but he is a pet, so I reach out to pet him thinking I’m not afraid of dogs. Next moment, the dog bites the shit out of my palm leaving a swollen white mark that faded into a dark purple bruise. Naturally, I yelled.
“Why did you try to pet my dog?” Paul asked.

Gas Station Politics
The following quotes are from an overheard conversation I heard when I was listening to a gas station clerk talk politics to a customer.
"It was either $30 million or $30 billion of debt when he left."
"Back when Clinton was in power we had money. We was in the red."
"He used scare tactics to get in the House of White."

This is a compilation of articles, videos, and forum discussions that are relevant to recent Google rumors. Some of the rumors are older, and some are fairly new. I will update more rumors shortly.

Google's PR about the agreement.
Google's Second Life:

More recent article describing layers with buildings.
Recent post on Official Google Blog declaring competition for recreating a university campus.

The Great Mystery of Google TV
What the hell is the deal Google TV? I think the entire internet is trying to censor any knowledge about it. In fact, this entire blog may be shut down just for mentioning GOOGLE TV.
It all started with this story by Mark Erickson which everyone immediately claimed to be a hoax. It seemed like a good prank, but shortly after, the story continued with a very emphatic claim that the hoax was no hoax. Maybe Erickson wanted a spike in traffic for his outrageous claims, but it is unusual for someone to defend a hoax. Also, another person verified that he was also able to get the beta version of Google TV on his 114th try. This claim's credibility... not great, but still it's there.
Now, searching through digg.com, I can't even find links to Google TV. And a Reuters article that previously had Google TV in the headline now reads the following:
And when I google "Google TV," I'm not getting anything reasonable in my search. This is pretty unusual for the best search engine in the world. Is Google hiding something big? It seems like it. If anyone knows anything else about it, please let me know.
All of these together are making me very suspicious. It seems like Google is censoring the internet right now to prevent any more word about their TV beta testing from getting out. I love the company too much to get angry...

Moola's New Features
Email cc5alive@gmail.com for an invitation to play at moola.com. So far, you can only play if you get an invite.
It appears that moola.com has been adding some very nice features lately. This is the easiest way to make some money online with absolutely nothing to lose (except some free time).
A feature that I use daily is the "search and win" feature. Search for anything on the internet and then spin a giant wheel that has values on it between 1 cent and $9000. In my first week, I got 2 cents four times, 5 cents once, 10 cents once, and 25 cents once.
You can also play games and wager money that you've already won. People are cashing out now all the time, and they have a referral program that you won't believe.
And on top of all of that, they have a money booster section where you can sign up for various services and get MORE money. I spent $1.50 at snapfish.com and my account is credited with $8.00! Sweet deal.

Sellaband.com Update
The second band on sellaband.com is about to reach the $50,000 mark. Once the group hits that, they will produce a CD sponsored by sellaband.com and distribute a copy to every person who contributed any money to them. After that, all the "believers" make money proportional to how much they contributed to the band.
The band that is about to make it is called Cubworld. It's not my favorite - very soft and acoustic, but it apparently has everyone going nuts over it. At my last check they had about $46,700!!
Check out Cubworld and other bands on sellaband.com

Sellaband! Making Money with Musicians
I have just discovered sellaband.com which is an amazing idea. Aspiring bands put their music up on the website and get people to "believe" in them by contributing $10 "parts." Once the band sells 5,000 parts, it gets a record label and splits it profits with all the people who "believed" in the band. How cool is that?
From what I've heard so far, some of the music is incredible. I'm especially big fans of Mysti Mayhem, Brice Davoli, and Clemence.
Check it out if you're a music fan!
